WeldJoinExpo 2026

Over 570 people attended the 2026 Welding, Joining and Manufacturing Conference and Exhibition (WeldJoinExpo) on 7 July 2026, alongside numerous exhibitors and presenters from both TWI Industrial Member and non-Industrial Member companies.

Among the attendees were around 25 apprentices from JCB, who partnered with us to create a dedicated Training and Skills Zone on the day, while we were also honoured to invite Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal, Princess Anne and her delegation to TWI Cambridge in her capacity as an Honorary Fellow of The Welding Institute.

33 companies and organisations exhibited their technologies, services and capabilities during WeldJoinExpo26. In addition, representatives from TWI, The Welding Institute, and TWI Certification provided information about about Professional and Industrial Membership of TWI / The Welding Institute, our information and knowledge services, and more. Visitors were also able to view an exhibition of welding art and a display of welding-related stamps from around the World.

Attendees were invited to attend a range of industry sector-specific workshops, covering aerospace, defence, nuclear, oil and gas, and space, while there were also dedicated workshops for TWI Certification, Professional Membership, TWI Software, and non-destructive testing. These workshops provided information and presentations from a range of industry experts from both within and outside of TWI / The Welding Institute. There were also ‘Future Technologies’ rooms featuring a range of presentations related to how research is driving transformation and delivering real benefits for society and the economy, including a deep dive into some of TWI’s greatest innovations. In total we hosted 154 different presenters across the day.

The main engineering hall at our headquarters near Cambridge was opened up for the event, giving attendees the chance to visit at their leisure and find out about a range of processes and capabilities, including fracture testing, laser welding, electron beam welding, high-speed testing, friction processes, plastics welding and joining, fatigue performance and testing, surface engineering and advanced coatings, thermal processing technologies, arc processes, additive manufacturing processes, and a range of NDT solutions such as phased array ultrasonics, eddy current array testing, long range ultrasonics, and NDT Cobots.

The ‘TWI / JCB Training and Skills Zone’ at WeldJoinExpo26 was created to offer career insights and information through presentations from industrial and engineering career experts and information stands. There was also an augmented reality (AR) welding area, courtesy of Seabery, and an AR welding competition for the JCB apprentices on the day.
